Our main plan was to troll a bit for some Spanish mackerel, Bonita and little tunny we had seen a bunch of 2 weeks earlier. But, the nor'easter of labor day pushed out the eddy that had come in and all we had was ugly, dirty green water. So with reports of incredible action at buoy 4, we tried a few drifts there. After a scuffle with a jerk-off dive boat that tied up to one of the buoys, we decided to head for more familiar waters, Cholera (but the dive boat left to the pleasure of all the fishermen working that piece!!!) At Cholera, things were very very slow. After about 30 minutes, a triple header then it was dead again. Finally, after exploring the entire area, we found a spot that would produce for us. Keeping our drifts short we ended up with about 20 nice big fat sea bass. At around 2 pm, we decided to give plan-A a shot so we rigged 5 rods and trolled around the bank, then to the 3 sisters, then all the way back to the ER inlet. For all our troubles, all we had was a 2 pound blue (which was enjoyed by John's Lynx!) Well, it was the first time I fished with John and I enjoyed it. Anytime there's room, he is very much welcome!
