Date: Saturday May 30, 2004 Fish: Striped Bass & Fluke
#: our limit of Fluke (9) Largest: 4 lb Fluke
Location: Long Beach
Crew: Mark & Tommy (Al & Bob - no shows!)
My phone rang at 6:30 am... Bob leaving a message that he & Allan spoke and decided they would whimp out because of the weather. I called Tommy and tried to cancel but he insisted it would be a good day. NOAA called for 20+ knot winds from the East. Something about an Easterly wind. Turns off the fish and makes the seas ugly. Well, Tommy & Mark shows up a bit late and by 8:30 we are steaming down Renolds Chanel. We head west in search of our buddy Impetious One. We find Mike in 40 feet of water a bit east of the Pink Hotel. We begin drifting in a nasty chop and start catching. Mike left early because of the seas. We stuck it out. Soon we too had our limit and decided to head back before another rain storm hit. All day it was cloudy, windy, rainy and damn cold. But with good fish, a decent cigar and some frineds, sure beats staying home watching TV.
