I took the day off yesterday to get some fishing in (mostly because good weather seems to peak midweek and suck on the weekends)...
NOAA predicted 10 knot winds and 2 foot seas. The wind blew south all day around 20 knots and the seas built to 4-5 footers...
Still we were out there. We shot over to my favorite spot and found not one striper there. On the way out we noticed a few clamers working less than
2 miles south of the inlet. We worked one of these clamers and managed 3 fish (2 keepers-which, by the way, the captain caught both of).
On the way back in we made a few half-azz attempts at fluke but found only 4 shorts around duck point.
Other boats coming in form Jersey scored good with the bass and the seabass fleet at Hemptstead reef scored big time!
